JAMMU, Sept 17: Research scholars of various departments of University of Jammu (JU) under the leadership of State president, NSF, Vikas Sharma, met Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof Mohan Paul Singh Ishar and discussed lack of amenities in the Nehru Boys Hostel.
The scholars complained Vice-Chancellor of lack of sanitation and seepages in the hostel. They also discussed the problems like unhygienic surroundings, unhygienic food, blockage of hose pipes, non functioning of water cooler, etc.
The boarders claimed that even though the hostel was renovated just few months back but the problems still exists. They alleged mismanagement of money in the renovation process and requested Vice-Chancellor to probe an enquiry into the matter.
The Vice-Chancellor assured the scholars to redress their grievances within a shortest period of time. He ordered Executive Engineer, Provost Hostels and OSD to Vice-Chancellor, to put up the matter immediately and start repairing work in the hostel.
