Repair work of Sarore-Shibychak road affected due to paucity of funds: Govt

Srinagar, June 7: Government today admitted that the general repair work of road from Sarore to Shibychak in Bishnah could not be completed due to paucity of funds.
In a written reply to a question of MLA Kamal Verma in Lower House, the Minister Incharge R&B said the road was sanctioned under PMGSY for a length of 12.65 kilometres at a cost of Rs. 443.01 lakh.
“The surface of the road got damaged due to rains of September 2014 and 2015. The defect liability period (5 years) of maintenance of this period expired on 31-12-2015. To facilitate smoothen plying of vehicular traffic and safety of passengers, the pot holes developed in the entire length of the road were filled up with River Bed Material (RBM)/ Wet Mix but the general repair could not be conducted due to paucity of funds,” the Minister stated.
