JAMMU, Sept 24: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State Executive Member, Raman Suri here today urged Governor S.P Malik and Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State in PMO to rename Green Belt Park Road at Gandhi Nagar as ‘Arun Jaitley Marg’ as a befitting tribute to the great leader.
In a handout Suri stated that since Jaitley was married in Jammu, he had a special place for the State in his heart and deserves this respect as son-in-law of the soil.
He further said that Jaitley always worked for the people and was not only a good lawyer but also a great politician and a statesman.
“Jaitley, who remained Union Minister besides Leader of House in Rajya Sabha and Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha, was also the man behind introduction of Goods and Service Tax (GST). He was the one who merged Railway budget with General Budget, which was widely appreciated,” Suri maintained urging Dr Jitendra Singh to pursue the matter with higher administration.
