Remembering Lala Hans Raj: JCMS to organise Mahajan Milan on Sept 28

JAMMU, Aug 23: Jammu Central Mahajan Sabha (JCMS) here today organised a meeting of its office bearers to finalise and announce the event ‘Mahajan Milan’ which will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at 11 am at Mahajan Bhawan, Shalamar Road, Jammu to mark the 159th birth anniversary of Lala Hans Raj Mahajan, popular as ‘Sher-e-Duggar’ and founder of Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Shiromani Sabha. Speaking in the meeting, Romesh Chander Gupta, Sabha president appealed to all the members of Mahajan community across J&K to participate in the event in large number and make it memorable.
“The occasion will not only be a tribute to the great social reformer but also a celebration of community’s unity and progress,” he maintained sharing that several eminent personalities have confirmed to join the event and they include Kavinder Gupta, LG of Ladakh, Jangi Lal Mahajan, MLA Mukerian (Punjab) and president of Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Sabha, Arvind Gupta, MLA Jammu West, Rattan Lal Gupta, NC provincial president and several other distinguished members of Mahajan Biradari from across the country.
Romesh Chander Gupta further said that the Sabha will also felicitate individuals from the community who have made exceptional contributions in diverse fields and they will include Gold medal winners in national or State-level sports events, newly inducted civil service officers at State or Central levels, recipients of honorary academic or professional degrees, cultural and social contributors who have promoted Mahajan values, toppers of class 12 and competitive exams.
It was decided in the meeting to urge the community members to share names and details of eligible individuals for felicitation by contacting Sanjay Mahajan, general secretary; Subash Gupta, vice president and Surinder Gupta, vice president.
