NEW DELHI, Oct 16: Relief Organisation Migrants organised an outreach programme at New Delhi today. On the occasion Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Dr Arvind Karvani interacted with various KP representative bodies and apolitical leaders and listened their issues concerning Kashmiri migrants putting up in Delhi NCR and other parts of country as well as Jammu. The issues of PM package employees were also discussed in the meeting.
Rakesh Handoo, spokesperson and in charge, Migrant Cell (JDU), who met the Relief Commissioner at JK House, New Delhi, focused on Ayushman Bharat Card facilitation for Kashmiri Pandits.
Handoo laid special emphasis on expanding the outreach to more cities and locations where the Kashmiri Pandits reside, ensuring that no eligible beneficiary is left out. He also recommended that more hospitals across India be empanelled and additional diseases be covered under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme to provide broader and more effective healthcare benefits to the community.
Handoo also held a detailed discussion with Kailasha Devi (ACR) Relief regarding matters related to the PM Package, including the allotment and possession of accommodation at Zewan and other transit camps. The ACR assured that these issues are being pursued on priority and that possession will be handed over soon. Handoo further urged for fast-track release of funds to contractors to ensure timely completion of ongoing construction works.
Issues related to Jagti and other transit camps in Jammu Division were also discussed.
Handoo also called for a comprehensive census of the Kashmiri Pandits to ascertain the exact number of community members living across India and abroad – a step he described as vital for accurate representation and welfare planning.
