JAMMU, Mar 9 : Aimed to promoting health and well-being among the elderly, the Senior Citizen Rejuvenation Centre organized a comprehensive health checkup camp today.
The camp was inaugurated by senior BJP leader Rekha Mahajan, who emphasized the importance of healthcare accessibility for senior citizens.
The initiative witnessed an encouraging turnout, reflecting the growing awareness about preventive healthcare in the region.
In her address, Rekha Mahajan lauded the efforts of the Senior Citizen Rejuvenation Centre for their unwavering commitment to the welfare of the elderly.
“Our senior citizens have contributed immensely to society, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure their well-being and health. Initiatives like these set a remarkable example of community service,” she said.
Rekha also highlighted several initiatives undertaken by the Modi Government for the welfare of senior citizens and mentioned the expansion of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana, which now provides annual medical insurance coverage of Rs 5 lakhs per family for all citizens aged 70 and above, benefiting an additional 60 million people.
KS Samyal, President of the Centre, extended his gratitude to Rekha Mahajan for her support and encouragement.
“We are committed to organizing more such health camps in the future to cater to the needs of our senior citizens,” he said.
The camp concluded with a vote of thanks to all participants, volunteers and medical staff, with a promise to continue such initiatives aimed at enhancing the quality of life for the elderly.
