JAMMU, Jan 22: Senior Trade Union leader and J&K unit president of Trade Union Coordination Committee (TUCC), Ghulam Rasool Geelani today demanded regularization of all type of daily rated workers and to clear all the pending GP Fund bills of the recently retired government employees.
Addressing media-persons along with other members here today, Geelani said that employees are facing lot of hardships. He said TUCC believes in dialogue and resolution of issues on the round table but if Government fails to deliver, then there is no alternative other than “Sangarsh.”
He said Government must form a high-level committee for the early settlement of all the pending genuine demands of work-force.
Geelani urged upon the Government to regularize all the categories of temporary and seasonal workers of different departments of J&K engaged after 1994 up till 2015 keeping in view the decade long exploitation of all these categories. He demanded to provide need based minimum wages to all the casual, seasonal, temporary, ITI trained, HDF and College local fund workers, Aayahs, Cooks etc. working under different departments of J&K, UT as per Central norms and revision of these wages.
He demanded allocation of funds to all the treasuries of J&K for releasing long pending GP fund bills which is a hard earned savings of the employees. He also demanded revival of Old Pension Scheme, reorganization of Skill Development Department, release payments of 754 casual workers/ labours of Wildlife Deptt under CAMPA and the budgetary quota should be enhanced as per requirement.
He also sought necessary amendment in the recruitment rules of all the wings of Forest department, Social Forestry, Social Welfare, Sheep Husbandry department, I&FC, Jal Shakti, Skill Development, RDD and PR departments; removal of pay anomalies of various cadres in the different wings of the Forest department including department of Social Forestry and Skill Development department, utilization of service of seasonal workers of Irrigation and Flood Control department and enhancement of honorarium in favour of Anganwadi workers and helpers at par with the neighbouring states of the country.
Senior leaders Muzaffar Ahmad Ganai, Molvi Nazir Ahmad, Mohd Iqbal Ganie, Raj Singh, Nishat Raina, Hardev Singh Chib, Fahmida Najar, Shahzadi Gill were also present.
