JAMMU, Oct 1: Questioning J&K Government decision regarding referring of 1997 posts to the JKSSB, senior Congress leader, Ashok Bhan today said the reference itself is illegal and unjust for the reason that the process of recruiting the qualified candidates has long back been done.
In a letter to Lt Governor of J&K, Bhan said the selected list is with the Government and the candidates are awaiting the appointment letters. This is part of Special PM employment package of past Dr Manmohan Singh regime. Under this scheme the recruitment process for 6000 vacancies of JK Government has already been completed, he added.
He, while turning the attention of LG said “This is to bring to your kind attention that either the incompetence of the concerned civil servants is galore or there is a conscious distortion of facts with malafide intent being committed by the administration”
He said the LG administration has referred 1,997 posts to the JKSSB for recruitment recently with a direction that the entire process will be completed by March 31, 2021?.
Bhan said this was done mischievously by JK bureaucracy simply to smoke screen the protest leaders and all party support the Kashmir Sangharsh Samiti received from across the world.
He said the left over candidates (LoC) have even moved to the High Court for a mandamus to the Government for issuance of appointment letters pursuant to the selection by JK SSB. The matter was referred to CAT is now pending for final disposal. The Division Bench of HC has ruled that eligibility is the only criteria for such rehabilitation recruitment schemes.
He said the current Government order is therefore unjust, illegal and fraught with mischief to deprive employment to those already eligible and those who may or are likely to get overaged during the delay caused by Government by not issuing the appointment letters. This mischief requires to be set right, he added.
He said the Sangharsh Samiti leaders have put up three demands -that at least 500 educated unemployed youth living in Kashmir be recruited, those who on account of delay by Government have overaged for such recruitment may be granted onetime age relaxation-and those who have lost their private jobs due to COVID-19 lay off the Government shall pay them monthly stipend or give them compensation. It has taken LG administration 12 days to understand and reach out to protest leaders. “If there is such callous and inhuman face of administration for such Tribal issue, then only God can save the citizens”, he added.
