MENDHAR, Jan 25: Fire broke out at the Sub-District Hospital in Mendhar, here this morning due to a short circuit, resulting into substantial damaged in two rooms being used for keeping record.

Besides Fire Brigade, the blazes were brought under control with the assistance of the Police’s Special Operations Group (SOG), the Army, CRPF, and local residents. Senior officials, including the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Tehsildar, and police personnel, arrived at the site to assess the situation.
Dr Ashfaq Ahmad, Block Medical Officer of Mendhar, stated that property worth lakhs of rupees stored in the affected rooms was destroyed in the fire. Several important documents were also reduced to ashes.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident. The administration is assessing the situation, and further investigations into the cause of the fire are underway.
