JAMMU, Nov 11: Demanding registration of an FIR against the then SDPO Gandhinagar, Sunil Singh Jasrotia and his immediate suspension for assaulting BDO Nagrota and a Panchayat Secretary, All J&K Panchayat Secretaries Association (Jammu province) went on two days’ pen down strike today.
In a letter flashed to the Commissioner/ Secretary to the Govt, Department of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, All J&K Panchayat Secretaries Association declared two days’ pen downs strike on November 11 and 12.
Provincial president of the Association, Jaffer Choudhary appealed to entire staff of the Rural Development Department to observe strike to press for their demands of registration of an FIR against the then SDPO Gandhinagar Sunil Singh for assaulting and abusing BDO and a Panchayat Secretary who were on election duty on Monday.
In many RDD and Block offices the work remained suspended and staff sat on protest dharna.
