Rayat Bahra University launches new courses, special schemes

JAMMU, June 16: Continuing its endeavour to introduce new programs for the students, Rayat Bahra University has  signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Siddhivinayak Cine Arts, Mumbai and a three-year graduate degree in film making is being started from this session in addition to one-year Diploma in Direction, Video Editing, Cinematography and Story Writing.
This was informed by Gurvinder Singh Bahra, Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University and Chairman of the Group, while talking to media persons here today.
The program will be offered by the Rayat Bahra University School of Media Studies which also offers programs like Bachelors and Masters Degree in Journalism and Mass Communication.
Bahra said that the University has also signed a MoU with the Deakin University of Australia. Under the agreement, RBU  would start collaborative MBA (Health Management), M Phil and PhD programs on its campus.
Dr Raj Singh, Vice-Chancellor of the Rayat Bahra University,   said that RBU has signed a MoU with Google India and opened a state-of- the-art Google Centre of Excellence where various undergraduate and postgraduate programs like B Tech Computer Science Engineering in Android Development and MBA in Digital Marketing were being offered. M Sc in Pharmacovigilance is being started for the first time in India with Pharma Industry collaboration. PG Diploma in Disaster Management in collaboration with Indian Red Cross Society and a B Sc (Physician Assistant) and other unique Allied Medical Sciences programs are also being started in 2017, he added.
Sumit Behl, Director Adm & amp; Mktg, Rayat Bahra Group, said the University is making its students ready for the emerging Fourth Industrial Age. With this vision, the Rayat Bahra University (RBU) had signed pacts with many globally known companies and introduced new age programs to equip students with global skills and enhance their employment potential completing the new B Tech, MBA and M Sc programs. The international collaborations include those with Fullerton, Thunderbird, Greenville, Pepperdine University, Furman, Clemson, Anderson University and University of South Carolina.
As Rayat Bahra students are being equipped with industry relevant skills, there has been an upswing in placements with more than 375 companies have visited different institutions of the Group. These include 183 in Engineering and Technology, 95 in Management and Computers, 35 in Hotel Management, 46 in Pharmaceutical Science and Health Sciences, and 20 in Law and Education. Students have been offered very attractive and lucrative pay packages.
Bahra also announced that the University offers attractive scholarship schemes, which include 100 percent waiver in tuition fee for students whose both parents are not alive, 50 percent tuition fee waiver for students whose father is not alive, 50 percent tuition fee waiver to single girl child born to her parents, and 25 percent tuition fee waiver to siblings studying in the Rayat Bahra Group. These scholarships are available for the full duration of the programs
