Ravinder Pandita elected president AIKS

NEW DELHI, Nov 10: Ravinder Pandita a prominent Kashmiri Pandit activist who is also head and founder of Save Sharda Committee has been elected as new president of All India Kashmiri Samaj a KP organization having its affiliates all over globe.
Ravinder Pandita was elected as new president of All India Kashmiri Samaj(AIKS) today in a close contest. He defeated present president, Dr. Romesh Raina and was elected to the coveted post of this prestigious organization. The voting was done physically as well as by postal ballot.
In a press statement later Ravinder Pandita complimented the entire Kashmiri Samaj in imposing their faith in him and assured that he will strive hard to come up to the expectations of the community.
Pandita as founder and head of Save Sharda Committee has been the brain behind construction of Sharda Mata temple at LoC in Teetwal in South Kashmir’s Kupwara district and he has launched a campaign for opening of Sharda temple to Hindu pilgrims in general and for Kashmiri Pandits in particular as Goddess Sharda being presiding deity of Kashmiri Pandits -the community members were craving for the pilgrimage to the world famous shrine presently in village Sharda in Athumuqam tehsil of Muzaffarabad district of PoJK since 1947.
