Ration dealer among two arrested

RAMBAN, Sept 7: Banihal police arrested two persons including a ration dealer, here today.
As per police sources, on reliable information about black marketing of Government ration, a team from Banihal police station conducted raid at Government ration depot.
During raid, it was found that the ration dealer was selling the Government ration to nomads and arrested the dealer, who has been identified as Raiz Ahmed (ration dealer), son of Mohammad Jameel Naik, a resident of Krawa.
Police team recovered 250 kilograms atta and 50 kilograms of rice from Mohammad Shafi, son of Mishri, a resident of Amb Gharota, Jammu and arrested him also.
The ration was meant for the public of Krawa, which the ration dealer was selling to nomads for illegitimate profits.
A case under FIR Number 146/17 under Section 3/7 Essential Commodities Act has been registered at Banihal police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Banihal Inspector Aejaz Wani made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Banihal Deepak Singh Katoch, Additional SP Ramban Mushtaq Chowdhary and SSP Ramban Mohan Lal.
