DODA, May 12: In a tragic road accident here today a shepherd lost a life and his 75 sheep were crushed to death by a rashly driven truck which rammed into a moving herd of sheep late Sunday night at Pul Doda area.
The erring truck bearing registration number JK02CA-5185 hit the herd which was moving towards Chatroo in mountainous Kishtwar district.
The shepherd killed in the accident has been identified as Muzaffar Ali, son of Mohammad Rauf, resident of Dansal, Jammu.
After getting information about the accident, cops reached the spot and shifted the body of the deceased shepherd to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda for post-mortem.
The erring truck driver escaped from the spot and Police has launched a manhunt to arrest him.
The truck involved in the accident has been seized.
Police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation.
