Rape accused convicted for 20 yrs rigorous imprisonment

RAMBAN, Dec 20: In a major judgement, Fast Track Court Ramban today convicted two rape accused by awarding them 20 years of rigorous imprisonment.
On December 7, 2011, an application was received from a complainant at Police Station Gool against two accused persons namely Mohammad Isaq and Abdul Rashid, both residents of Dalwah, mentioning there in that the said accused persons have abducted and committed rape on his daughter.
On the receipt of the complaint, a case FIR Number 68/2011 under Sections 363, 376 and 109 RPC was lodged at Police Station Gool and investigation was set into motion. After conducting a thorough investigation, the chargesheet was produced before the court of law.
Following the trial, Fast Tract Court Ramban today convicted both the accused persons and awarded them 20 years of rigorous imprisonment and fine of Rs 50,000 for offence under Section 376 RPC,
5 years of imprisonment with fine Rs 10,000 for offence under Section 363 RPC, 2 years of imprisonment with Rs 5000 fine under Section 344.
The professionalism in investigation manifested by the Investigation Officer of police station Gool and the strenuous efforts put in by public prosecutor Ranjeet Bandral District Court Ramban have brought the very desired results in the form of conviction and played a vital role in restoring the faith of people in the criminal justice system.
