JAMMU, Feb 2: The vibrant festival of Basant Panchami was celebrated by the Rangyug with an enchanting live music performance by students and teachers, here today.
The event, Vasant Utsav, marked the arrival of spring, blending soulful melodies with the festive spirit of the occasion.
The celebration commenced with a traditional invocation to Goddess Saraswati, the deity of wisdom and arts, followed by a mesmerizing sequence of classical and semi-classical renditions.
The performers showcased their dedication and talent through melodious compositions that resonated with the essence of Basant Panchami.
Speaking on the occasion, Deepak Kumar, Director Rangyug remarked, “Basant Panchami symbolizes new beginnings and what better way to celebrate than through the universal language of music. The students and teachers of Rangyug have showcased an exemplary spirit of dedication and artistry.”
The students who trained under Pankaj Pradhan and Ashutosh Mangotra showcased their talent, further highlighting Rangyug’s role in grooming emerging artists.
The evening featured captivating performances by renowned classical singers Dr Mukteshi, Guru Ashutosh Mangotra, Pankaj Pradhan, Raj Kumar Behrupia, Hridesh Sharma, Mohit Sharma, Kakali Majumdar, Krishna and Udhaykrishan with tabla accompanied by Abhishek Sehgal and Ram.
Distinguished attendees included Dr Priya Dutta, Dr Juhie Mohan, Ashish Sharma, Sumit Kumar and Shivan Gupta.
