JAMMU, June 11: MLA Bahu Constituency, Ch Vikram Randhawa today laid the foundation stone of an Aspirational Toilet at Ward No. 20 under the ongoing Swachh Bharat Mission.
The foundation stone laying ceremony was conducted in the presence of senior officials including Xen Lokesh Gupta, Health Officer Dr Vinod Sharma, engineers and staff from the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), along with several local dignitaries and members of the community.
Prominent personalities who marked their presence included Rahul Kumar (Mandal President), Satbir Singh, Bhushan Verma, Daljeet Singh, Varun Sharma, Lovisha Gupta, Neelam Mangotra and other respected citizens of the area.
Speaking at the event, MLA Ch Vikram Randhawa said that the establishment of Aspirational Toilets is not only aimed at enhancing sanitation infrastructure but also to ensure dignity and ease of living for every citizen. Clean surroundings are the foundation of a healthy society, and such initiatives reflect our dedication to holistic development, he added.
The Aspirational Toilet is being constructed with modern design, equipped with necessary hygiene measures and user-friendly access, especially keeping in mind the needs of women, children and the elderly.
Officials from the department explained that this facility will serve hundreds of local residents and shopkeepers in the area and will be maintained under strict hygiene protocols.
On this occasion, the MLA also interacted with locals and took feedback on other civic needs in the area. He assured that all genuine demands will be taken up on priority with the concerned departments. The public expressed appreciation for the MLA’s continued efforts in addressing sanitation and infrastructure challenges.
