JAMMU, Sept 9: Continuing his commitment to grassroots development and civic infrastructure, MLA Bahu constituency, Ch. Vikram Randhawa, today kickstarted the long-awaited construction work of lanes and drains in Ward No. 43, Nanak Nagar.
The inauguration ceremony took place in the presence of senior officials from the Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC), including the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) and Junior Engineer (JE), who provided a detailed overview of the project plan and execution strategy.
Also present on the occasion were several prominent local leaders and dignitaries, including Mandal president, Rahul Kumar, Pappu Choudhary, Rampaul, Sabharwal, Rajinder, Yashpaul, Seema Verma, Pawan Kumar, Sunny Kumar, along with a large number of local residents and supporters.
Speaking to the media and residents, MLA Randhawa stressed the importance of civic infrastructure in ensuring better living conditions. He mentioned that this work aligns with the broader goals of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, aiming to improve sanitation, manage drainage effectively, and maintain cleaner public spaces.
“Development at the grassroots level is essential. Projects like these directly impact the daily lives of residents and help build a cleaner, healthier locality,” said Ch. Vikram Randhawa.
Local residents welcomed the move, noting that the area had faced issues related to poor drainage and damaged lanes for a long time. The initiative is expected to resolve these problems and enhance the overall environment of the locality.
The event concluded with gratitude from local representatives and a collective call to support and maintain cleanliness initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
