Randhawa dedicates herbal garden to Govt School

JAMMU, Feb 9: Member Legislative Council (MLC), Vikram Randhawa here today dedicated herbal garden to the students of Government Higher Secondary School, Channi Himmat.
On the occasion Randhawa along with other staff members of the School planted dozens of saplings of various medicinal and other botanical plants in the school garden.
Addressing the students and staff members, Randhawa claimed his moral responsibility to develop the School as a model institute with all modern facilities, as he has adopted it.
He also said that plants play an important role in the life of humans as they not only provide oxygen but are used in treatment of many ailments.
The MLC further talked on increasing pollution and said that various diseases like cancer are spreading rapidly due to pollution.
He urged upon the teachers to educate the children on importance of plants and added that more trees should be planted to check the pollution.
The staff members and others present on the occasion included Shehnaz Chowdhary, Shivani Pathania, Kamaldeep Kour, Chamail Singh, Amit and Naresh Manhas.
