MENDHAR, Dec 6: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and MLA Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana today laid foundation stone of Sangiote-Chandiyal Road to be constructed under BADP scheme, in Mendhar constituency.
Addressing a public gathering at Sangiote after laying foundation stone of the Road, Rana said construction of this road and grant of RBA status to village Sangiote were long pending demands of this village and he had made a commitment to the people of the village before his election that both of their demands will be fulfilled after elections.
Rana said both the demands of the villagers have been fulfilled with grant of RBA status to village Sangiote and start of work on the road. He alleged that villages of this constituency like Sangiote have been ignored in the past, as they even lacks basic facilities like road, water, electricity and schools.
The NC leader said People of Rajouri-Poonch have always been divided on casteism and this is main reason behind lack of development of these areas. He said the time has arrived for the people of the region to leave caste politics behind and focus on development.
Further speaking on the occasion, Rana lashed at the Government for not taking up development works. He said that more than Rs 10 crore has to be paid to the people in Mendhar as land compensation for construction of PMGSY roads, which Government failed to do.
He asserted that the matter will be taken up with the Government and compensation will be paid at the earliest. Rana also said that work on up gradation of Kotli Kalaban to Chandiyal will be started very soon.
