JAMMU, Aug 29: Shri Ram Mandir Management Committee Purani Mandi today felicitated officers from civil and police administration, besides activists of social and religious organization for the commendable efforts made by them to ensure smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra.
The Chairman Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra, Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma and Member Legislative Assembly, Ashok Khajuria attended the felicitation function organized under the supervision of Mahant Rameshwar Dass Maharaj Ji.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chairman Legislative Council expressed his gratitude to the civil administration of the state, Army, Security forces, J&K Police, local stakeholders, people at large and all those who worked tirelessly for smooth conduct of annual Amarnath Yatra.
Minister for PHE, Sham Lal Sharma congratulated the people of Jammu and Kashmir for successful conduct of yatra. He said that departments like Police, PHE, PDD, Tourism worked hard to facilitate the pilgrims with systematic arrangements. He lauded the excellent synergy and very high level of coordination among the Army, Security Forces, State Police, Shrine Board and State Government Departments and agencies involved with the management of Yatra-2013.
MLA, Ashok Khajuria appreciated the officers of Government Departments for making all essential arrangements timely for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra and hoped that the Government would provide all necessary facilities for religious yatras every year in the state.
Amrit Malhotra, Sham Lal and Ashok Khajuria presented mementos to the officers and representatives of social and religious organizations for their valuable support for smooth conduct of the Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2013.
The officers felicitated were DIG, Jammu Kathua Range, Shakeel Ahmed Beig, Director Tourism Jammu, Soujanya Sharma, Deputy Director Information, Yash Paul Suman, Superintendent of Police, North, J.S. Johar, Dy. S.P. City, Kulbir Handa, X-En PHE, Ashok Gandotra, social activist, Vikram Malhotra, besides representatives of shopkeepers association and NGOs.
Mahant Rameshwar Dass Maharaj Ji gave details of various services being provided by the civil administration for providing best possible facilities to the pilgrims of annual Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.
Others who were present on the occasion were Sant Baal Yogeshawar Ji, IG Jammu, Rajesh Kumar, Vice Senior Vice President, National Conference and devotees in large number were present on the occasion.
