Ram Kripal Yadav seeks doubling of Danapur-Mokama-Mughal Sarai line

NEW DELHI, July 15:
BJP member Ram Kripal Yadav today demanded that the government consider the proposal of doubling the railway line of Danapur-Mokama-Mughal Sarai. Mr Yadav was participating in the resumed discussion on the Railway Budget 2014-15 in the Lok Sabha. Indian National Lok Dal’s Dushyant Chautala urged Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda to run a special train between Sirsa and Ellenabad.
He suggested that the government operate double decker coaches in Railways in wake of increasing number of travellers. Mr Chautala, the youngest member of Parliament, also demanded that the government expedite the pending railway projects and allocate specific budget for them.
Naga People’s Front (NPF) member Neiphiu Rio highlighted the urgent need of modernising and upgrading the Dimapur railway station in Nagaland.
The member also attracted the attention of the Railway Minister to expand the number of platforms at the Dimapur railway station.
Mr Rio informed that Rajdhani Express was the only super fast train which crosses Dimapur, the largest city of Nagaland. Expressing concern over the prevailing filth at railway stations, BJP member Ramesh Bidhuri suggested Mr Gowda to have a provision of penalising those who spit at the stations.
Mr Bidhuri also demanded that the Railway Minister build two foot over bridges in his constituency, including Badarpur-Prahladpur railway crossing.
Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) member Anbumani Ramadoss alleged that the BJP-led NDA government was ignoring the needs and interests of people of Tamil Nadu in the Railway Budget. He said no new project was given to the state in the Budget, adding that only five new trains were given to the state. Citing the example of China, which has has one of the largest high-speed rail network in the world, that it was running bullet trains in losses, Dr Ramadoss cautioned the Modi government, which seemed determined to launch such trains in India.
“We have to be a little prudent,” said Dr Ramadoss. The member said his constituency was one of the most backward areas in the entire country. Therefore, he demanded that the Railway Minister lay railway network in his constituency so that development in the area could get a boost. (UNI)
