JAMMU, Nov 24: Rajput community and students of GGM Science College today demanded ban on the release of film ‘Padmavati’ in J&K, alleging that the makers of the film have distorted historical facts. (Click here to watch video)
A large number of Rajput community members today took out bike and foot rallies in Jammu city and held demonstrations against the film. The protesters carrying effigies of Bhansali marched on streets of Jammu and demanded there should be criminal case registered against Bhansali.
The protest against film ‘Padmavati’ also reached GGM Science College, where student leader, Sulaksh Kotwal, while addressing media persons, said that he along with other Hindu outfits will ensure that Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s upcoming film is not released in the State.
Kotwal extended full support for Bharat Band call on December 1 given by Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha. He demanded that scenes, trailers and advertisements showing ‘Padmavati’ dancing be removed immediately.
Later, students also burnt effigy of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, maker of the film.
