Dangri village of Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir has very recently unfortunately been witness to and borne the brunt of the novel but savage ways of Pakistan sponsored terrorism unleashed in this country for the last over four decades, particularly in Jammu and Kashmir. On the basis of AadharCardsverifying the religion of the victims , the savages killed as many as 7 innocent Hindus including two small children. One family has been reduced to only a sole member – a poor surviving woman. That is shocking beyond description. While the mechanism , the intention and the agenda of such selective killing are not that difficult to comprehend as Pakistan and its agencies are committed by conviction and by intent to hate, persecute , kill and thus decimate Hindus not only in Pakistan but extending this strategy beyond its boundaries deep into this country. It is despite formation of that country on the basis of religion for Muslims as a separate and exclusive one from out of this country. That we should still keep facing hostilities , proxy invasions, sabotages , infiltration , violent acts of terrorism and hatching conspiracies and plans of spreading communal disturbances and the like from that country is and should be the real cause of concern needing to look at that all beyond the conventional approaches and misconceived notion of ”Terror has no religion”. Why cannot it be asked and accounted for seriously as to why were 7 innocent harmless poor Hindus killed and as many wounded in this village of Rajouri in two terror attacks, one after the other, on January 1 and 2 this year ?What fault had the innocents of Dangri to be killed in cold blood?
With each such attack aimed at devastating the picked out and chosen individuals and families and spreading terror and fear in the people even to the extent of forcing the hapless inhabitants to migrate and leave their ancestral place in search of ”safer” ones and thus keep on cleansing villages, towns and cities of the minority people under a larger game plan , we tend to soon forget the aftermaths of such tragedies and continue with our daily routine . Yes, some minor protests or effigy burning by a few people preceded by usual and conventional ”Ninda” and doling out ex-gratia money to the next of kins of the killed citizens is usually all of how such dastardly killings are treated. Should it become and be treated as a routine or rather a fait accompli? The fact of the matter is , though it sounds somewhat unpleasant to hear, that not for a single day a total shutdown was witnessed in Jammu division or at least in the city against this attack wherein peaceful protests and indignation against such repeated attacks and defiling of our land by these killers from the other side would have been unitedly shown using the tragic occasion to further gird up loins against fighting the scourge and remaining ”more vigilant ” and less complacent as the menace has the vicissitudes of spreading its tentacles.
Unfortunately for this country, even such heart rendering incidents are politically cashed by political parties who usually keep indulging in blame games and drawing Balance Sheets of dealing with such incidents and situations and stupid narratives put forth ”claiming” how minimum of such incidents took place etcetcunder whose regime and governments instead of standing up solidly and cohesively against this silent but dangerous prolonged war being fought against us , on our soil and at our cost . If we do not wake up and wake up fully unitedly to the threat , the possibility of such attacks taking place at more places and even in and around the city of temples in the near future cannot be fully ruled out even though the efforts of the security forces in fighting this proxy war of Pakistan are second to none and if we are feeling safe and carefree it is because of the dedication , commitment to duty- day and night – maintaining extreme vigil and even offering sacrifices by our Police Force, security and Army personnel.
The question again is as to how the terrorists managed to enter Rajouri and single out the particular village to kill innocent villagers in cold blood . Again, a very serious question which should engage the attention of not only the authorities but the general public in Jammu division is in respect of the diabolicdesigns being evident to engulf , affect and envelop Jammu division withterrorism – sponsored , aided, abetted and executed by Pakistan. This lurking danger to the peace, tranquility and progress of Jammu division can be further analyzedkeeping in view the changing demographic equations which is , without mincing words, fully evident in the city itself and its suburbs. That the terror attack in Rajouri could have not been possible unless the killers from the other side of the border enjoyed the requisite logistic support of the over Ground Workers (OGWs) or sleeper cells flying under the radar who are no less lethal than the ones actually executing the acts of such mayhem. There is absolutely no point in discussing as to what is gained by those who plan and execute such acts of savagery against humanity and human values as those words and pleas are falling on deaf ears .
There is absolutely no point in even giving any credence or importance to the irrelevant , redundant and wasteful ideas , pleas or unsolicited suggestions of ”talking ” with the country in immediate neighborhoodknown as epicenter of terrorism. Talking about what and with whom and with which expectations is fairly known to even those who float such ideas.They , therefore, trade in such ”solutions” only for expediency and for playing to the galleries. These leaders have never ever openly and unequivocally condemnedthe actions of such in humans who kill innocent and unarmed people nor directly pointing out and pinning all responsibilities on Pakistan for encouraging, sponsoring, training, arming, funding and facilitating these terrorists . Even if such leaderswere to go in for even walking some extra miles in this regard , it was worth it, instead they keep on beating about and around the bush . It is to be seen how a total rebellion like situation is there in PoK as people repeatedly voice their grievances and facing of atrocities at the hands of Pakistan and earnestly want Pakistan to leave that part of Kashmir since they feel the territory treated as a colony where even China too at the behest of Pakistan is milking the mineral and other resources lavishly.
Unfortunately for this country to have such a neighbour born out of and with ancestry of this land, a civilization(al) descentand debasement laced with bigotry has overtaken that country as is evident as to what happened to 22.3% Hindus as on 1948 to be decimated to barely 1.3% as on date in that country while in India, the population of Muslims in 1948 was 10 percent which as on date is over 17 percent or between 1951 to 2011 from 9.8% it rose to 14.5% and in 2021-22 it is estimated to be over 17%.We are proud of our civilization – ancient civilization – of inclusiveness – of co-existence- of equality before law, of spreading peace and contentment- of non-violence – of spreading knowledge and spiritual bliss – of holding in esteem and respecting all faiths and religions and that is why the minorities in India are safest in the world but should we be targeted and waylaid by such cowardly but ruthless ways? Pakistan needs to answer that , the time of which has come.
However, it is equally of no consequence that as a fallout of the unfortunate but tragic Rajouri attack ,the government has assured of an ”impregnable security grid” in Jammu and Kashmir . The same is proposed to be in place within three monthsas promised by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah who could not visit and personally meet the victim families due to inclement weather but talked to each one of them. However, it is imperatively required to have more of village defence guards , trained and provided with modern weapons . It is learnt that the process of a grand revamp of Village Defence Groups is under active implementation.
The security apparatus is otherwise well acquainted with all the nuts and bolts of how best such incidents can be prevented but the question now is not only about how to meet and deal with the emerging situation but how this curse and this affliction from across the border are fully dealt with, resolutely treated and finished so that complete peace returns in Jammu and Kashmir since enough is now already enough as we have been facing an undeclared war for four decades from an economically bankrupt country where a bag of aatais under the ”protection” of automatic rifles as people queue there for hours to get the stuff even at Rs.160 a kg.Those unfortunately still daydreaming about and having soft corner for that unstable, bankrupt and backward country that stands in no comparison to a rising world power India, need to go in deep introspection.
