JAMMU, Apr 18: Senior National Conference (NC) leader Rajesh Gupta expressed serious concern over the alarming rise in crime rates across Jammu and Kashmir.
In a statement issued, Gupta highlighted the growing insecurity among the people and called for immediate measures to address the deteriorating law and order situation in the region.
He said, “The dual Government system in Jammu and Kashmir has created administrative inefficiencies, leading to a lack of accountability and governance. This has directly impacted the safety and security of the people. The rising crime rate is a matter of serious concern and the current system is failing to address the challenges effectively.”
“The people of Jammu and Kashmir deserve a Government that is fully empowered to address their concerns. The restoration of Statehood is not just a political demand but a necessity to ensure effective governance and public safety,” he said.
Gupta urged the Central Government to take immediate steps to restore Statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, stating that it would empower the local administration to tackle the rising crime rate and other pressing issues more effectively.
