JAMMU, Feb 14: Director General of Police (DGP), K. Rajendra Kumar today said that infrastructure plays an important role to enhance efficiency of an organisation to provide better service to the people.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the corporate office of Police Housing Corporation (PHC) at Narwal here, Mr Rajendra said that JKP, under its modernization scheme has launched a mega construction programme to strengthen its components and enhanced living and working facilities of its jawans and officers. Various buildings, barracks and alternate accommodations were constructed at various locations to accommodate the personnel.
Mr. Rajendra said that during past some years, a huge building infrastructure has been raised in all the districts of the State and many construction works are under execution which would house the police offices including headquarters of different wings and armed battalions. He said that under the scheme, the Organization has been constructing residential accommodations with the aim to enhance living and working facilities for all ranks of the department.
Earlier Managing Director, PHC, Dilbag Singh briefed the DGP about the salient feature of the project.
The inauguration was followed by a meeting of Board of Directors (BoDs) of J&K Police Housing Corporation. Chaired by Chairman PHC, K. Rajendra Kumar, the meeting was attended by other members including MD JK PHC, Dilbag Singh, IGP Jammu Rajesh Kumar, Chief Engineer R&B Kashmir, Satesh Razdan, Chief Town Planner Jammu Joginder Singh and FA PHC Anil Kumar Dogra.
This was the 31st meeting of BoDs which discussed various projects and administrative issues of the Corporation. The meeting was apprised by MD PHC about the works undertaken by the Corporation in the State during the year 2014. He said that the Corporation executed various projects of the Organization and is enjoying strong professional reputation for its work.
The meeting discussed various agenda points with regard to execution of projects. The BoDs gave nod to many projects after detailed deliberations, while some issues were decided to be taken up in the next meeting of the BoD.
Addressing the meeting, Mr. Rajendra asked the officers to work jointly and strengthen the image of the Corporation. He said that timely completion of project and use of quality material in the execution should remain a priority to gain more faith.
The inaugural function was attended by ADGPs, SP Vaid, Navin Aggerwal, VK Singh and SM Sahai, IGPs, Dr. B Srinivas, HK Lohia, Deepak Kumar, SJM Geelani, Alokpuri, MA Khan, Rajesh Kumar, Mukesh Singh, SL Sharma, Jagjit Kumar, SA Watali and JP Singh, DIGs, Parminder Singh, SA Mujtaba and Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, SE PHC, SK Shah, AIGs Sheikh Junaid Mahmood, Rajeshwar Silngh and SZ Azad, Exn, PHC, Sunil Kumar Gupta and other police officers.
