JAMMU, Jan 31: Accelerating the pace of rural connectivity and infrastructure development in his constituency, MLA Bishnah, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat today kick-started the construction and macadamization of the vital road link from Marhol to Powal Arnia. The project, estimated at a cost of Rs 50 lakh, spans a length of 1.3 kilometers. The commencement of work was marked by a formal ceremony where the MLA, along with technical teams and local leadership participated .
Addressing a large gathering at Marhol, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat emphasized the importance of high-quality road networks in rural areas. He stated that robust infrastructure is the backbone of economic growth, particularly for the farming community and students in the border belts. “Our mission is to ensure that no village in Bishnah is left behind in terms of modern amenities. By providing a smooth, macadamized surface, we are ensuring safer and faster transit for everyone,” Dr. Rajeev remarked.
The MLA was accompanied by the Assistant Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department (PWD) Sub Division, Bishnah and his technical team. Dr.Rajeev issued strict instructions to the Department to adhere to the highest quality standards and ensure the timely completion of the project to minimize public inconvenience.
The function witnessed enthusiastic participation from various political and social leaders. Prominent among those present were Rinku Choudhary, BJP district president, (Border Jammu) Girdhar Gopal, Mandal Pardhan, Arnia, Supinder Sharma, general secretary, Davinder Singh, former Sarpanch, Ashwani Saini, Ashu, Capt.(retd) Bodh Raj, and Arjun Singh Other local leaders, including Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Rajeev Sharma, Master Som Dutt, and Arjun Saini, also expressed their gratitude to the MLA for prioritizing the developmental needs of the Arnia sector. The local residents welcomed the initiative, noting that the upgraded road would significantly improve the daily commute for the residents of border villages.
