PATNA, Sept 29: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav and Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary today flagged off seven new trains including three Amrit Bharat Express.
While Chaudhary flagged off the trains from Patna junction, Railway Minister Vaishnav did it virtually from New Delhi.
Trains flagged off are–Muzaffarpur Charlpally, Darbhanga- Madar and Chhapra- Anand Vihar Amrit Bharat Express. Four passenger trains, Patna-Buxar, Jhajha-Danapur, Patna-Islampur and Sheikhpura-Barbigha-Biharsharif were also flagged off on the occasion.
Chaudhary said on the occasion that Amrit Bharat Express trains were a good mode of travelling with modern facilities at affordable price.
“A total of 13 Amrit Bharat Express trains would run from Bihar, which would further improve the connectivity and boost economic development,” he claimed.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the state was running on fast track of development with accelerated pace.
“During the Congress led UPA government’s regime at the centre, the Railway budget for Bihar was nominal and it had been increased to 9 times which was at present Rs 10,066 crores,” he added.
“Several Rail bridges were being constructed over Ganga river in Bihar and a new bridge was under construction near Bikramshila. A bridge constructed parallel to Rajendra Bridge in Mokama over Ganga river and other such constructions had greatly improved the train connectivity in Bihar which would greatly help in ushering a new era of development of the state,” he added.
