JAMMU, Jan 10: In a moment of pride for Jammu and Kashmir and Indian Railways alike, senior Indian Railway Services Officer and son of the soil, Ramesh Kumar Koul has been conferred with the prestigious Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar – 2025, one of the highest individual service honours in Indian Railways.
The coveted national award was presented to Koul by Union Minister for Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw at a glittering ceremony held in the Union Capital late last evening.
Currently serving as Deputy Chief Materials Manager at Patiala Locomotive Works (PLW), Koul was honoured for his exemplary professional excellence and outstanding contributions in the field of Materials Management. His innovative approach and meticulous planning have played a crucial role in enhancing organisational efficiency and achieving key production targets at PLW.
The Ati Vishisht Rail Seva Puraskar is awarded to officers who demonstrate exceptional dedication, integrity and sustained meritorious service, and Koul’s selection reflects his selfless commitment and high standards of professionalism within the organisation.
Also present at the ceremony was Rajesh Mohan, Principal Chief Administrative Officer (PCAO). Congratulated Koul on receiving the prestigious honour, he lauded his unwavering dedication, technical acumen and significant contributions to Indian Railways, describing the award as a well-deserved recognition of years of devoted service.
