JAMMU, Jan 19: Jammu Kashmir Petroleum Dealers Association (JKPDA) held its long-awaited elections for the posts of president and general secretary today after a gap of 12 years.
In the race for the president’s post, Rahul Gupta, representing Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), emerged victorious, securing 103 votes out of the total 188 votes cast.
For the position of general secretary, a tie was declared between Chetan Kohli and Avtar Singh Khalsa, as both candidates received 81 votes each. After deliberation, the voters unanimously agreed to declare both as joint winners for the post.
The election witnessed enthusiastic participation, with a total of 188 votes polled, marking a significant moment for the Association after over a decade without elections.
