JAMMU, Dec 16: Global India Business Forum (GIBF) has conferred prestigious ‘Sufi Gayan Parampara Ratna-National Cultural Excellence Award 2025’ to Sufi singer, Ragini Rainu.
The award function was held at Constitutional Club, New Delhi and the award was presented by Dr. Jitendra Joshi, in the presence of global president GIBF, Deepali Gadkari, secretary general GIBF along with ambassadors and diplomats from Belarus, Benin, Chad, Colombia, Comoros, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Guyana, Nepal, Niger, Congo, Russia, Suriname, Tuvalu, Uruguay etc.
Ragini dedicated her award to her Guru Pt. Bhajan Sopori.
Ragini has previously been honoured with awards like Dr. Sarojini Naidu International Award, SaMaPa Yuva Ratan Samman, Dogri Award, Sur Shree Award, Global Punjabi Society Award etc.
A handout stated that she stands as a representative of the Sopori-Sufiana Gharana of Kashmir and has her training under the tutelage of Pandit Bhajan Sopori, who crafted her singing blending classical Gayaki with Tayari and Bhava, infusing her performances with unparalleled depth and emotions.
Renowned for her effortless singing and mastery over the Ghazal and poetic Kafi genres, Ragini is equally at ease with the traditional genres as with the modern nuances and expressions captivating audiences worldwide.
