JAMMU, Apr 16: Pir Panchal (CESES) organized a women empowerment programme at Radio Sharda 90.4 FM Jammu in which, Dr C K Garayali former Chief Secretary, Tamil Nadu was the chief guest and the programme was presided over by, Avtar Mota renowned writer , blogger and social activist.
The welcome address was made by Ramesh Hangloo president Pir Panchal and Founder Director, Radio Sharda. He lauded the women leaders in the programme especially Mata Bhadrakali Institute for Handicraft and Handloom for their efforts to engage displaced women for earning and empowerment.
Dr C K Garayali who performed a great role in the women empowerment in Tamil Nadu appreciated the women for their zeal in making their life worth by earning livelihood through their self help efforts and the skilful methods. She commended the Pir Panchal for its support to Mata Bhadrakali institute and assured all help in future also.
Avtar Mota, while addressing the gathering said that the Wanvoon the Vedic hymns sung by the ladies keep our traditions alive and make our generations aware about the rich Vedic past. He said we have a challenge to carry forward the legacy of our civilisation to the younger generations otherwise the influence of having nothing and carrying nothing will destroy it all. He assured the Mata Bhadrakali members that he will help them in selling their products and making it a self reliant and sustainable institution.
Vote of thanks was presented by Kiran Pandita the Head of Mata Bhadrakali Institute of Handicrafts and Handloom. She complimented Ramesh Hangloo for supporting the Institute.
The programme was organised by Vijay Koul general secretary, Pir Panchal and Anita Bhat , Roopali Koul managers of Radio Sharda were also present.
