JAMMU, Nov 10: Former Minister R S Chib has been unanimously elected as new president of the Forum of Recognised Colleges (FORCE).
Election of Chib was made during a meeting of members of FORCE, held today under the chairmanship of outgoing president S Harbans Singh, who expressed his desire to resign from the post citing family and personal problems.
Even as all the members insisted upon him to continue as president of FORCE, S Harbans Singh did not agree with this and requested the support of R S Chib to take over responsibility of the President as the latter had already been holding this position and has sufficient experience to look after the functioning of the organization.
All the members present in the meeting highly appreciated R S Chib who was also present in the meeting and was of the opinion that one of the young members should be given the responsibility of the President of FORCE. However, none of the member in the meeting agreed over this.
While addressing the meeting, Mr Chib appreciated the patronage provided by S Harbans Singh during his tenure as president and also the cooperation extended by all the members. He also said that he will try his best to discharge the duties of the president and continue to seek guidance from S Harbans Singh, the Chief Patron of the FORCE.
Earlier, Ashok Khajuria, Gen Secy of the FORCE, explained in detail the steps taken by the FORCE in order to seek the recognition of different colleges by the NCTE. He also explained the efforts and initiatives taken by the FORCE for the betterment of B Ed colleges under the chairmanship of S Harbans Singh.
The representatives M M Khalsa College of Education Jammu, Chenab College of Education Jammu, Galaxy College of Education Jammu, Ranjit College of Education Jammu, Tariq College of Education Rajouri, Kalra College of Education Udhampur, Bhartiya College of Education Udhampur, Kalra College of Education Kud, Rajiv Gandhi College of Education Kathua, R B College of Education Kathua, Surya College of Education Kathua, New Age College of Education Billawar, R S College of Education Kathua and I B S College of Education Kathua attended the meeting.
