Pak fires unprovoked in Poonch, Indian Army retaliates

JAMMU:  In yet another truce agreement violation, Pakistan today fired unprovoked on the Line of Control in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

     Indian Army retaliated effectively to the cross border firing.

     “Pakistan Army this morning initiated unprovoked and indiscriminate firing of Small arms, automatics and mortars from 0850 hrs to1000 hrs in Krishna Ghati sector along the Line of Control,” a defence spokesperson here said.

     He said that Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively to the provocation.

    Earlier, on August 30, Pakistan violated ceasefire agreement and fired unprovoked in Nowshera sector.

          On September 1, a BSF jawan also attained martyrdom in sniper shot fired from across the border.

          Meanwhile, on August 28 five civilians were injured as Pakistan resorted to unprovoked firing and targeted forward Army posts and villages in Rajouri. (AGENCIES)
