UDHAMPUR, June 28: Activists of Pradesh Youth Congress held a protest demonstration, here today and blocked the National Highway while demanding resignation of External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj, HRD Minister Smriti Irani, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundra Raje and Maharashtra Minister Pankaja Munde for their alleged involvement in various scams.
The protest was led by Uma Shankar Pandey, Incharge J&K and Pranav Shagotra, PYC chief. The protesting PYC activists raised slogans against the Modi Government and criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well as BJP top brass for shielding corrupt ministers.
Speaking on the occasion, PYC chief demanded the resignation of tainted ministers in NDA and hit out at Sushma Swaraj for helping Lalit Modi who left the country without facing trial. Granting of travel documents to fugitive Lalit Modi is something like compromise on the integrity and security of the country, he alleged.
Pranav Shagotra also lambasted Smriti Irani for securing an alleged fake degree to benefit herself. He hit out at Vasundra Raje and Pankaja Munde, who are allegedly involved in corruption and said that NDA Government was full of tainted and corrupt persons, who are hell bent upon to sell out the country to benefit themselves.
While terming NDA Govt a hub of corruption, Shagotra asked the Prime Minister to prove his honesty towards the people of the country by not shielding these tainted ministers.
The protest was organized by Rakesh Bodhi, AYC president and also addressed by general secretaries PYC Pankaj Basotra, Paramjit Singh, Lok Sabha president Vinay Sharma and vice president Lok Sabha Rashid Malik.
Those who took part in the protest included Sumit Magotra, Chetan Wanchoo, Pankaj Sharma, Ashwini Sharma, Rashid Mughal, Waseem Jalal, Akash Bharat, Anirudh Khajuria and others.
