JAMMU, Sept 6:  The activists of  Pradesh Youth Congress (PYC) today held strong protest against the BJP led Government at the Centre for the price hike of onions, pulses and other commodities and burnt the effigy of Prime Minister outside Press Club when the MoS in PMO Dr Jitender Singh was addressing press conference here today.
The PYC workers led by State president Pranav Shagotra assembled near Press Club at around 11 am and held protest demonstration. Most of the Youth Congress leaders and activists were clad with the garlands of onions and were shouting slogans against Modi Government. Though a strong contingent of police had already been deployed there but the Youth Congress activists managed to take out a effigy of the PM and burnt it. A police officers however, threw it away from the protesting youth and doused it immediately.
While speaking on the occasion Mr Shagotra alleged that Modi  Govt is only benefitting the capitalists/ industrialists  and doesn’t care for the difficulties confronting   people in respect of price rise of  onions, pulses and other essential commodities. It seems that NDA Govt has taken a pledge to crush the poor people aiming to benefit business tycoons and big corporate houses. He alleged that Modi Government has failed to control the price hike. PYC president cautioned the people against the anti- people polices of NDA Govt and urged them to raise the voice against the failures of  Modi Govt and its policies.
