Pvt Schools Association seeks disposal of files submitted for fee approval

JAMMU, Mar 23: A delegation of authorized members of JKPSA met with Justice Sunil Hali, Chairperson Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) regarding the delay in the disposal of all files which had been submitted in the office of FFRC for review and approval of fees of private schools.
While presenting memorandum to the Chairman, members said that the schools whose validity of approved fees has lapsed by or before March 31, 2025 have submitted the files in the FFRC for the approval of fee before commencement of new academic session i.e. with effect from April 1, 2026. In this pretext members briefed the Chairman about the crises which the school managements will face if the fee of private schools is not approved by of before March 31, 2026 as school management will be in a fix what to do and what not to do regarding the enhancement of the fees in accordance to the inflation and varying price index in the current scenario.
President of the association, Ajay Gupta demanded quick disposal of all files which have been submitted in the office of FFRC in time bound manner before the commencement of new academic session to bring transparency and save all school owners and parents from any kind of hue and cry.
Chairperson of the Fee Fixation and Regulation Committee (FFRC) gave a patient hearing and showed his haplessness regarding disposal of files due to his completion of tenure by March 31, 2026. He explained that it would not be appropriate for him to approve fee of any of the private school at this situation.
Following this, JKPSA members unanimously appealed to the Sakeena Masood Itoo, Minister of Education to make necessary arrangements for the disposal of all files by or before March 31, 2026 i.e. before the beginning of academic session 2026-27.
