JAMMU, Jan 30: A meeting of Private Schools Association was held here today in which all District heads of Jammu Province and Executive members of the Central body J&K PSA participated. Ajay Gupta, general Secretary of J&K PSA briefed about the meeting agenda, which included notices and orders like FFC/JMU/2018/ 1050-51 dated 29/01/2018, FFC/JMU/18/1018-19 dated 24/01/18 , FFC/Jmu-17/706-727 dt. 08/11/17 and 241 FFC of 2017 dt. 07/12/2017 based on hypothetical and irrational order No.106-FFC of 2017 in which Educational Institutions have been authorized to make an increase of 8 percent in tuition fee only for three years and whose base is kept August 2014.
The members expressed their anguish over the unrealistic and hostile attitude of the State Government as the prevailing situation in the entire State was totally different and has entirely changed than it was in 2014 due to inflation and changed price index.
President Private Schools Association, Kashmir Chapter, G N Var, who was also present in the meeting, offered to the Government that Private schools can even accommodate all the students studying in private schools free of cost provided State Government releases half of the expenses/funds to the private institutions which it is spending on the students studying in the Government schools.
President of the Association, Kamal Gupta demanded that Government instead of beating about the bush should come out with solid clear cut policy to give solid support to the private schools which are being run by the self employed volunteers in urban, semi urban, rural and in far flung areas of the State and who share 50 to 60 percent load of the Government.
The meet appealed the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to intervene and install a mechanism which is acceptable to all the stakeholders of Private Education sector to save this venture from harassment and extinction.
