JAMMU, Mar 28: Members of the J&K Private Schools Association, Jammu met with the Director School Education Jammu Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma and discusses with him their genuine demands.
Members highlighted number of problems which included ambiguity over the students who were admitted in class 1st for the academic session 2022-23, delay in granting recognition to the schools which are granted affiliation by JKBOSE on 04/01/2023 and also delay in issuance of circular based on fixed parameters for the countersignature / authentication / confirmation of result of private schools for the academic session 2022-23.
Ajay Gupta, general secretary of the Association, briefed to the Director that to prevent exploitation of the students by the unrecognized schools and to facilitate smooth transfer of the students from one recognized school to another, confirmation of result of all private schools was being done since 2015 on the fixed parameters by all the CEOs/ZEOs of Jammu division in accordance with the directions given to them by the Director School Education, Jammu from time to time.
The Association demanded issuance of a circular in accordance with the precedence based on fixed parameters for the countersignature / authentication / confirmation of result of private schools for the academic session 2022-23. They also demanded a calendar indicating the cutout month of minimum age for the admission of a student as per mandate of NEP 2020 before the commencement of new academic session i.e. before April 1, 2023.They also demanded recognition to all private schools which are granted affiliation by JKBOSE to promote single window clearance system and to curb the menace of corruption, harassment and exploitation.
Director School Education Jammu Dr Ravi Shanker Sharma gave a patient hearing to the delegation and promised to mitigate their problems very shortly.
