PVS holds convention

JAMMU July 3: State body of Pradesh Vishwakarma Sabha (PVS) held its annual convention in which a large number of community members took part and discussed various ways and means for their development and upliftment with special focus on economical, social, educational and constitutional rights.
The speakers threw light on the Creator and Principal Universal Architect- Lord Vishwakarma who designed the divine architecture of the entire universe.
Demands of the Vishwakarma Biradari were hightlighted in the convention which included Gazetted Holiday on Vishwakarma Day;  Enhancement of reservation from 2% to 27% as per Mandal report;  Meaningful functioning of Backward Classes Commission while appointing its vice chairman from amongst the OBCs; and Immediate appointment of VC OBC Development Board which past is lying vacant for the past two years.
The convention was presided over by Shashi Verma and attended by all designated heads of tehsil and district units.
Prominent speakers included Kuldeep Raj Verma, ex-VC OBC Board, Sessions Judge (Retd) Harbans Lal, R L Chargotra, Puran Chargotra, R C Angotra, Jaswant Rai, Capt Tara Chand, O P Khokhar, Purshotam Lal, Dr Ajit, H R Chargotra, Mangal Dass Verma, Purshotam Lal, Rakesh Kumar, Vinod Jaral, Raman Chalotra, Capt Lal Chand, Jagdish Raj, Charanjeet Bitta, Joginder Angotra and  Joginder Paul.
The program was arranged by the team of Vishwakarma Sabha under the supervision of Vijay Kumar and Jagdish Raj.
