Punjab man nabbed with poppy

SRINAGAR, Nov 10: Police today apprehended a drug peddler from Punjab in Ganderbal and seized a quantity of contraband from his possession.
According to authorities, a police team, headed by the in-charge of the Police Post Shadipora intercepted a suspicious individual during routine naka checking near Sumbal bridge.
“Upon inspection, 2.720 kilograms of poppy bulbs concealed in a white nylon bag were recovered from his possession. The individual, identified as Joginder Paul, son of Diwan Chand from Blore Pathankot, Punjab, has been arrested and is presently held in custody at the Police Station,” the police stated.
Consequently, the police have filed a case, FIR No. 310/2023, under relevant sections of the law at PS Ganderbal, initiating an investigation into the matter.
