UDHAMPUR, July 28: Senior political leader Pawan Khajuria, who has previously contested as an independent candidate from Udhampur Assembly constituency, showed concern over hardships being faced by the people due to online service disruption.
At a press conference here today accompanied by Rakesh Kumar and others he said there is growing distress among the public over issues related to online services under the Digital India campaign. Khajuria said that under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the push towards digital processes was a commendable step. However, from children to the elderly, people are now facing significant difficulties. Whether it’s the need for birth certificates or pension-related issues, the requirement of online processes has made even simple tasks burdensome.
He cited an example that if online processes are not functioning properly or if a new Government order is not updated on time, the public ends up making rounds of offices repeatedly without any resolution. In particular, he highlighted problems faced in the distribution of ration cards. Even though people have submitted the necessary documents, their data is not being reflected on the portal, forcing them to keep visiting Government offices, only to be told each time that the portal is not working.
Khajuria further mentioned the distress of children whose names are missing from ration cards, causing them to be deprived of essential services. He added that while the public continues to suffer, the administration and Government remain mere spectators.
Urging immediate attention, he appealed to the Government and administration to wake up from their deep slumber and take prompt action to address the public’s woes. He requested that portals be operated properly and swiftly so that Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Digital India can be truly fulfilled.
He also shared that officials often excuse their inaction by blaming server issues or cyber attacks. He emphasized that if there are departmental errors, the concerned officers should be held accountable. Khajuria urged the administration and Government to take this matter seriously and act quickly so that the poor and common people do not suffer and their work is done smoothly.
