JAMMU, Oct 27: The Pesticide Testing Laboratory (PTL) today achieved a prestigious milestone with its accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025, marking a significant step toward strengthening agricultural quality assurance and analytical excellence in the region.
This remarkable achievement has been realized under the leadership and guidance of Anil Gupta, Director Agriculture Jammu and Vinod Sharma, Agriculture Chemist Jammu, whose continuous support and vision have been instrumental in upgrading the laboratory infrastructure and aligning it with international testing standards.
Speaking on the occasion, Anil Gupta congratulated the entire team of PTL Jammu for their dedication and professional excellence.
“This accreditation is a proud moment for the Department and a testament to its commitment to ensuring quality control in agricultural inputs. The laboratory’s enhanced credibility will help safeguard farmers’ interests by ensuring that only genuine and standard-quality pesticides reach the market,” he said.
Vinod Sharma, Agriculture Chemist, expressed gratitude to the Directorate and the laboratory team for their coordinated efforts in achieving this milestone.
He emphasized that the accreditation will further improve the accuracy and reliability of testing results, thereby contributing to evidence-based decision-making and quality assurance in the agriculture sector.
Special recognition was accorded to Ravinder Gupta, Assistant Agriculture Chemist Jammu and the dedicated team of the Pesticide Testing Laboratory including Tarminder Singh, Research Assistant, Vikas Gupta, JAEO, Inderdeep Singh, JAEO, Adarash Anand Thaploo, JAEO and Raman Preet Kour, JAEO, whose coordinated efforts and commitment ensured the successful completion of the accreditation process.
The ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation reaffirms PTL Jammu’s commitment to providing reliable, precise and internationally recognized testing services.
This milestone will greatly benefit farmers, agro-input suppliersd and other stakeholders across the Union Territory by ensuring the availability of quality-assured pesticides and promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
