PSA slapped on notorious drug peddler

JAMMU, Aug 23: Government Railway Police (GRP) Jammu has slapped PITNDPS (PSA) against notorious drug peddler Abhishek Sharma, son of Anil Sharma of Main Bazar Kathua.
Four FIRs under NDPS Act stand registered against the detainee in different Police Stations of district Kathua and Police Station GRP Kathua. He is a notorious drug peddler having links in different places in & out of J&K and is selling the banned drugs to consumers.
The warrant of arrest under the provisions of Section-3 Prevention of Illicit Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1988 (PITNDPS) was issued by Divisional Commissioner Jammu and has been executed by Police Station GRP Kathua. The detainee has been lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.
GRP Jammu has launched a vigorous drive to break the nexus between drug peddlers and consumers in the jurisdiction at Railway Stations. In the last less than one year GRP Jammu has lodged 23 FIRs under NDPS Act and arrested 22 accused. Moreover, GRP Jammu has arrested 13 absconders under warrants of Section 512 CrPC and executed 2nd warrant under PITNDPS (PSA).
The drive against drug peddlers has been launched by Railways Police under the supervision of SSP Shailendra Singh.
