PRP, Political Migrants Front pay tributes to Sheikh Abdullah

SRINAGAR, Dec 5: Rich tributes were paid to former Chief Minister, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah at various functions here today.
Peoples Republican Party (PRP) which held a function at Ganderbal to pay tributes to former Chief Minister said that late leader had converted the Muslim Conference into National Conference (NC) in 1938 on secular and progressive lines.
Recalling the services of Sheikh Abdullah to the people of State, PRP chief Mir Ghulam Rasool said that after the resolution was moved by Raja Akbar it was endorsed by all leaders of Muslim Conference to convert it into NC and to include people from all shades of opinion in the struggle launched for democratic rule in the State. He said Budh Singh, Prem Nath Bazaz, Jia Lal Kilm, Ch Ghulam Abass and other Hindu and Sikh progressive and secular leaders joined the Party for transformation of power into the hands of the people in the State.
At another function organized by political migrants Front in Kashmir led by Sheikh Mohi-ud-Din Shabnam glowing tributes were paid to former Chief Minister on his 111th birth anniversary by the speakers. While highlighting his policies they said Sheikh worked till his last breath for the welfare of the people of the State. Ghulam Nabi Bhat general secretary of the Front, Bal Krishan Bhat, its State secretary, Parvez Hilal spokesman and Nanak Singh Bedi provincial president of the Front attended the meeting.
