SRINAGAR, Apr 3: The People’s Republican Party (PRP) senior leader, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani has urged the administration to take immediate steps to deplete water from the areas of Shukhzo, Rabitar, Gundroshan, Ahathkhuru, Lati and Kondbal in Ganderbal district which are submerged in water due to insistent rains for last one week.
In a statement Mir urged the Government to install dewatering pumps in the area so that the people in marooned villages are relieved of their problems. He said that heavy rains have also damaged the crops, vegetables as well as fruit bearing trees and the farmers be provided due compensation for the same.
Mir also expressed serious concern over the stealing of cattle from the house of Ghulam Ahmed Dar in Rabitar area who is the activist of PRP and in whose house a meeting was held few days back by the Party leadership.
Mir in an appeal to the SSP Ganderbal urged him to locate the cattle of the Party worker and arrest the thieves responsible for this crime. He termed it a handiwork of his opponents. Mir said that PDP will be strengthened in the State under the chairmanship of G M Tramboo advocate to make it a viable political alternative to strengthen secular, social and nationalist forces and to launch a crusade against the corruption, nepotism black marketing etc.
The Party said it will fully support the present coalition in the State in its pursuit to put the State back on rails and give a transparent and strong Government that will be responsive to peoples needs and urges.
