SRINAGAR, June 28: People’s Republican Party (PRP) has expressed grave concern over the failure of CAPD to take action against its depot holders and store keepers for selling the ration at exorbitant rates in Ganderbal district.
In its meeting today PRP chief spokesperson, Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani alleged that the CAPD officials are openly violating the Government order and selling the ration at exorbitant rates in Ganderbal district.
He said as per the official rate list per quintal of rice is to be sold to consumers for Rs 1000 only while the store keepers charge Rs 1060 despite the instructions of the officers. He said besides flour and sugar is also sold on higher rates and the officers till date have failed to act against such storekeepers.
Mir warned agitation in case the trend continues. He sought immediate intervention of the CAPD Minister in this regard. The meeting also expressed its concern over the police action in Jama Masjid Srinagar and Kashmir University and urged the Government to restrict the police from entering the religious places and educational institutions as the same is against the basic spirit of democracy.
