JAMMU, Aug 31: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) has welcomed the initiative of Union government to send the parliamentary delegation to the State to hold talks with the people of the Valley to defuse the present crisis and restoration of peace and normalcy.
The PRP chief Mir Ghulam Rasool in a statement said that the dialogue is the only solution of solving all the problems in a democracy and his party has always advocated for the same. He said the initiative taken by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi is an appropriate step and expressed the hope that the delegation will hold talks with the people from all shades of opinion including Hurriyat. He said the dialogue process will not be fruitful if any section of the people including the Hurriyat are not included in it.
Mir said that PRP is always of the firm view that violence was no solution to any issue instead, it added to the problems of people further so Government should show the magnanimity and sagacity of talking to people of the State who are the victims of 27 year long turmoil to find an everlasting solution to it.
Mir expressed the hope that not only the dialogue process will be initiated but also concrete steps will be taken for restoration of peace and normalcy in the Valley as violence has taken a heavy toll over the years and many families were perished. He assured full support and cooperation from his party in restoration of peace in the State.
