Provide basic facilities in Bandipora villages: Bhat

BANDIPORA, Apr 30: Senior PDP leader and former legislator Nizamuddin Bhat has urged the District administration Bandipora to provide connectivity, solar lights, adequate water supply and proper facilities at Health centers at places deprived of this so far.
In a meeting with District Development Commissioner today, Bhat sought immediate redressal of such pending issues at Vewan, Herpora Athwatoo, Chuntimulla, Halmatpora, Chichinar, Dangernar, Malangam Gojarpatis, Aragam, Chittibandey and Wular villages like Laharwalpora, Zurimanz, Kulhama and Ashtangoo Ghat.
Bhat also urged the DDC to complete pending road projects in Chuntimulla, Chandaji, Kota Satri and Ajas upper belts.
He sought adequate compensation to land owners and house owners whose properties come under road projects.
Referring to the performance of MC Bandipora, Bhat sought complete transparency in schemes for slum dwellers and houseless here and also exhorted upon DDC to have a monitoring mechanism for tax collection and utilization of funds by MC authorities.
He expressed dissatisfaction over unplanned use of lights provided by NHPC and asked for due coverage of leftover wards in Kaloosa, Nathpora, Lankreshipora, and Nussu.
Expressing satisfaction over the stewardship provided DDC, Bhat felt assured that due care will be taken of problems faced by the people of backward and underdeveloped areas.
