Protests erupt against atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh

REASI, Dec 7: To lodge their protest against state-sponsored persecution of Hindus and other minorities in Bangladesh, various Hindu organizations staged protest demonstrations here today.

A protest was held under the Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) in Doda town.
Speaking on the occasion, SDS Doda President Gajay Singh Rana strongly condemned the targeted killings of minorities in Bangladesh. Demanding international sanctions and befitting diplomatic measures he said, “We trust the Indian Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi to ensure that justice is served and that those responsible face action in international courts.”
The locals of Reasi also hold a protest demonstration against alleged atrocities on Hindus in Bangladesh. The call for the protest was given by the Shri Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Reasi.
Addressing the protestors, SDS President Brij Mohan Sharma said, “Minorities, including Hindus are faced with oppression in Bangladesh which needs to be stopped immediately. Hindus and other minorities are being killed and their houses burnt. We are on the roads to submit a resolution and seek Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intervention to safeguard Hindus in Bangladesh.”
Demanding atrocities against Hindu community in Bangladesh be stopped immediately, a protest was held in Bhaderwah also.
The protest was led by MLA Bhaderwah Daleep Singh Parihar. Protestors burnt an effigy of Bangladesh’s interim govt chief advisor Muhammad Yunus at historic Seri Bazaar, protesting against the atrocities on the Hindus and arrest of an ISKCON priest.
“Attacking our Hindu brothers and sisters in Bangladesh are absolutely intolerable. This is not just an attack on a religion; it’s an assault on the humanity. We demand that these atrocities be stopped immediately,” said BJP MLA. Parihar urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to intervene and protect the Hindu community in Bangladesh.
Carrying placards with slogans like “Save Hindus of Bangladesh”, the protesters later submitted a memorandum to the Additional Deputy Commissioner with a demand for the protection of minority Hindus and their rights in Bangladesh.
Meanwhile, a partial bandh was also observed by the minority community and also by the particular community in Bhadarwah town and it’s peripheral areas, however all the government offices, banks, educational institutes functioned normally and public transport was plying on the roads as usual.
